We’re All Stressed About Healthcare

Late last year, the American Psychological Association (APA) released their findings on the most common causes of stress in Americans. The top three causes, according to the study:


1. The state of our Nation

2. Money

3. Work


It has been argued that we’re all in the business of healthcare. Being as 50% of Americans receive their healthcare through the workplace and health insurance tends to rank in the top 3 line items in most employers’ budgets, this is an easy argument to understand.

Primary Care Saves Money. Yes, It’s True.

Recently, the New York Times published an article that disputed claims that preventative care helped to reduce healthcare costs. At TouchCare, we cite the importance of Primary Care Attribution, often associated with preventive care, as a cost savings tool for our clients.


We took a closer look at some of our own data to prove the correlation between Primary Care Attribution and lower healthcare cost.


In our study, TouchCare found that roughly 11% of the 4,002 studied members had not had a primary care physician (PCP) encounter in the past 14 months.

Primary Care Saves Money. Yes, It’s True.

Last week I bought diapers for my daughter on Amazon. For earlier generations, I imagine this type of transaction went something like this:


Step 1: Determine diaper supply is low

Step 2: Go to grocery store or pharmacy

Step 3: Find diapers that are either on-sale, or that worked last time

Step 4: Purchase the diapers

Step 5: Repeat next time you’re low on diapers


My experience, however, was drastically different. I spent at least two hours researching online the various different diaper options available.
